Sri Lanka inflation rises to 69.8% in September

Sep 30 (EN) SL’s inflation in Colombo accelerated to 69.8% in Sept 2022 from 64.3% a month earlier, data from the state statistics office showed amid the worst currency crisis in the history of the island’s intermediate regime central bank. Sep 30 (AD) Four passengers have been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on suspicion of trying to smuggle in a stock of gold into the country this morning (30).
