May 14 (ITN) The suspect who sexually abused a 15-year-old girl at Kalubovitiyawa in Morawaka has been murdered by two persons. The Police said that the two attackers had later surrendered. The persons who is suspected to have been involved in the sexual abuse had committed the abuse after abducting the girl. VRS for 5,000 excess SLTB office staff

May 14 (ST) The over-staffed Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) intends to rid itself of some 5,000 employees by offering them a Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS), said Deputy Transport Minister Ashok Abeysinghe.
