Underworld figure dies in hospital

Oct 1 (Island) A 42-year-old Dewaka Lasantha Wijetunga, an underworld figure, who was shot and injured on Sep 28 afternoon by unidentified gunmen at Ambagahahandiya, Minuwangoda died on Tuesday while being treated at the Gampaha hospital, Police said. A police officer attached to the unit said Wijetunga had been shot while he was travelling in a car with another.
