For want of govt interest, ICRC up-grade cold-storage facilities in northern hospitals

Aug 28 (Island) For want of government intervention, the ICRC is in the process of upgrading a cold-storage facility at the Padaviya hospital to facilitate the transfer of the remains of combatants killed on the Welioya/Mullaitivu front. Earlier, the ICRC had equipped and upgraded cold storage facilities in hospital mortuaries in Anuradhapura and Vavuniya. GMOA warns of forces attempting to cripple health services in North, East

Aug 29 (DN) The Government has decided to ban the import of Chloro Fluro Carbons (CFCs) and Bromo Fluoro Carbons (Halons) which are chemicals commonly known as Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS).
