June 8 (ST) My dear Mahindananda, I thought of writing to you because you hit the headlines last week, being sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment, no less. Although there was all this talk about horu allanawa or catching thieves, I must admit the news about you – and your partner in crime Nalin – came as a bit of a shock. Of course, you were never a quiet chap. You liked being the centre of attention, be it in public rallies, Parliament or while wielding your ministerial powers.
