They added that the 2016 annual report of the Ministry of Finance was a balance sheet which had nominal and false figures in terms of debit and credit. AG has declined to approve the report. June 25 (SL) A statement made in Parliament last week by Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe stunned western diplomats based in Colombo. New laws to check multiple voting by IDPs
June 25 (ST) Displaced people found to have registered to vote in several electorates by submitting false information and documents risk being fined, sentenced to a prison term or both, under new laws now being drafted. Under the new laws, IPDs have been allowed to register to vote in the electorate they resided in before being displaced.
