Govt. borrowings from Central Bank surge

Mar 12 (Island) Credit to the private sector from domestic banks slowed down in January 2012 with Rs. 49.2 billion being generated in new loans while credit to the govt from the Central Bank and the domestic banking sector surged, generating new loans amounting to Rs. 93.3 billion, latest data showed. CMC threatens to seize 867 properties for non-payment of rates
