ICC to fund T20 tournament in Sri Lanka

Jan 26 (SL) The International Cricket Council (ICC) will provide a direct grant of US $ 9.4 million to Sri Lanka as expenses to host the Twenty-20 (T20) World Cricket Championships in September, the govt said today. Jan 26 (LBO) Sri Lanka's stock closed up 0.65 percent Thursday recovering losses for the second day, with turnover rising, and index heavy John Keells Holdings reported higher profits for the quarter. The benchmark Colombo All Share Index rose 36 points to close at 5,592.4 points and the Milanka Index of more liquid stocks rose 0.45 percent, 21.5 points to close at 4,758 points, provision stock exchange data showed. PS, PC interdicted over suspect’s death
