Over 400 apply to fill hangman’s vacancy

Feb 15 (Island) Over 400 qualified persons have applied for the post of hangman at the Welikada Prison. They said most of the applicants were those who had passed the GCE A/L and O/L exams. The post fell vacant recently following the former hangman being promoted to the post of prison guard. The Prisons Department advertised to recruit a new hangman.
