Feb 21 (AT) The LTTE failed miserably in its attempt to stop a musical show organized by a group of Tamil entertainers in Paris with active participation of top singer Mohanraj Muthuswamy. Army to raise 61st division

Feb 21 (SLW) The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) will soon raise the 61st division, raising the number of active divisions in the army to 13. The new division will mostly consist of soldiers recruited during the period of 2007-2008. Central bank says policy tight, credit to govt. at record low

German mob attack puts Sri Lankan man in hospital

Feb 21 (DPA) A man from Sri Lanka was recovering in hospital Thursday after being attacked by a mob of Germans on a street, police said. Bunker battles kill 48 in Sri Lanka

Feb 21 (AFP) At least 46 Tamil Tiger rebels and two government soldiers have died in intense battles for a bunker line in northern Sri Lanka, the defence ministry said Thursday. Bid to smuggle surgical materials to Sri Lanka foiled
