Excise Dept issued 37 new liquor permits

May 10 (CT) State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya disclosed that during the first four months of this year, Excise Dept issued a total of 37 new liquor permits (FL4). Out of these, 16 were allocated to supermarkets, he said. Liquor consumption in the country had decreased by 19% in 2023 compared to 2022.
