Five entities win BIA currency exchange counter bids worth Rs.2.3bn
Nov 7 (DM) Five entities have won bids to operate currency exchange counters for a period of three years at BIA, with their total bid worth exceeding Rs.2.3 billion. Bank of Ceylon secured Counter No. 25, with a bid of Rs. 798,028 million plus taxes and Sampath Bank secured Counter No. 02, with Rs. 633,662 million. Commercial Bank was awarded Counter No. 04, with Rs. 381,364 million, while Thomas Cook Lanka (Pvt) Ltd obtained Counter No. 10, with a bid of Rs. 299,064 million.

1 million driving licences stuck at regional offices

'Govt will definitely abolish PTA after election'

Sri Lanka foreign reserves US$6.4bn in Oct 2024, up 7.9%
Nov 7 (EN) Sri Lanka’s gross foreign reserves rose US$ 474 million in the month of October to US$ 6.4 billon, the central bank data showed. Sri Lanka’s gross foreign reserves are made up of central bank’s monetary reserves and fiscal reserves from loans. Sri Lanka signed a US$ 200 million World Bank loan in October, it is not clear whether the it was disbursed.
